The SLICES-RI consortium gathers partners from 16 European countries, all of them having committed to contribute resources and has received the endorsements of key stakeholders and the political supports of 12 European Governments. Several of the current partners (7) are operating facilities that are already on their national and regional RI roadmaps. It is the case for instance for France, Greece, Poland, Norway, the Netherlands, Italy and Switzerland. The numerous letters of support testify the strong support from the community as well as from industry and member states. SLICES will encourage and foster all the initiatives from the consortium at different levels (European, national, and regional) for the inclusion of SLICES in their respective roadmaps. Discussions and negotiations have already started in several countries involved in the SLICES with their respective ministries in order to broaden the SLICES consortium. What is SLICES-DE?
SLICES-DE: Digital Research Infrastructure for Computing and Communication
SLICES-DE is a modular digital research infrastructure and Germany’s contribution to the European SLICES-RI initiative, involving 16 countries. It provides a remote-access experimental platform for ICT researchers, offering a structured workflow for reproducible experiments and long-term data archiving. Using Blueprints, the platform adapts flexibly to diverse research needs. It supports advancements in 6G networks, AI, cybersecurity, HPC, IoT, cloud-to-edge, and quantum computing, primarily for German universities and research institutions, with cooperation models for industry partners.
